How to compose mail in Gmail?
Gmail basically offers its services in three different platforms or views – Web version on a computer browser, mobile version on a mobile browser and through its Smartphone app. In all three of them a mail is made of these three basic components which you should know about to compose a mail in Gmail:
Just like you need an address to send a mail to someone in the real world, you need an address on the internet too which is called Email address. An email address is made of two components or part.
The first one contains the specific signature of the person you are trying to reach called username and the second one contains the address of the site which holds that email account on its servers (like gmail.com), and we combine these two parts with “@” sign.
While writing a mail physically, we write the subject part just afterwards the name of the person we are sending the mail to, so he can see and understand the context of the mail in just one line and the subject part of a virtual email is the same as it’s physical counterpart.
Body or text:
The final part of any mail is the main text elaborating the purpose of email in detail and any other text which you want to write in that email.
Compose a new mail in Gmail web?
For the composing a new email in the web version of Gmail, you need to follow the below-given steps-
Step 1: First open gmail.com with any browser and sign in to your account using your unique username and password.
Step 2. After you successfully sign in Gmail will load up the inbox of your email containing the emails you have gotten in the past which will look something like the picture below:
Step 3. Once the inbox has completely loaded, you’ll see a compose option on the top left side of the page. You need to click on it which will further open a tab in the same page.
If you would like to compose mail in new window hold the shift button while clicking on the compose icon.
Step 4. Once the email window is opened, you need to fill all the required fields as in Email Address, Subject and the main context on the mail.
Once done, click on the send button and the email will be sent instantly and a message will appear in the top middle corner of the page informing you about the same
Compose an email in Gmail mobile?
The process of composing an email in Gmail mobile is more or less the same as the web version only the interface changes a bit. To compose a new mail in Gmail Mobile follow the given steps
Step 1. Open any web browser in your mobile. Open gmail.com, and then fill out your username and password to log in to your account.
Step 2. Once you have signed in, you’ll see the inbox page as seen below and a pen alike icon on the top right corner. You will have to click on the icon which will take you a new window where you can compose your mail.
Step 3. You get the same options as the web version. You have to fill the fields of email address, subject and the context of the mail. Once you are done with it, click on the send button on the top right corner of the page and your mail will be sent.
How to compose email in Gmail Android (or any other Smartphone)
Composing a mail in the Gmail Smartphone application is a bit different than the other methods. The application comes preloaded with every Android phone and can be downloaded from the App store for iOS users.
By default, Android users will be signed into the account they signed in on the first boot of their phone. If you want to sign into a different account, open the app then swipe right for opening the menu and select the Add New Account option.
Apple users also follow the same step. If they have already signed in with a Google account on their phone. They can also simply open the app and sign in with their desired email id. Once signed in, follow the steps below to compose a mail in Gmail Android (or iOS)-
Step 1- When you open the app, you’ll see the default inbox view, A pencil alike icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on the icon for entering the editing window.
Step 2. On the editing window, fill out all the required fields the same as given in the methods above. Click on the send icon(the arrow) to send your composed email.
